So, its actually day two as I'm writing this, but yesterday was a little crazy meeting a zillion new people.
My patience was tested first thing as I was arriving at the airport a little later than expected and the line was the longest line I have ever seen before to check bags. So, I missed my cut of to get my bags on my plane. No big deal, they'll be on the next flight, right? Wrong. Somehow every bag that was checked onto my flight didn't make it, so they were on the next flight. So my bags were on the next next flight, and I was uninformed. So as some of the staff scramble to find my bags that they have never seen before, they weren't even on that flight. The night continues, I'm sweating crazily in my vans with no socks (because I'm a genius and didn't wear socks on the plane) and I have absolutely nothing to change into. Then I come to find out that my phone is freaking out. I can't make/receive calls or texts. I couldn't do anything on my phone, which means even if they did contact me about my bags, I wouldn't receive the call. So, the night continues and I take measures to make sure I have sheets for my bed at least. (thanks hospitality) I was then told that even if the airport had my bags, they wouldn't allow anyone else to take my bags but myself. In fact they wont even give anyone else any information on my bags. Off to the airport me and one of my leaders go, hoping and praying everything is where it should be. I showed my I.D. and boom out comes my bags. I was so stoked that I thought maybe God was feeling generous and would fix my phone too. Nah, He didn't feel like it. I made my way to my room with my ridiculous amount of luggage. And passed out from such a long crazy day of meeting lots of awesome new faces, and slowly trying to remember names.
P.S. My phone is fixed now. Just needed time, I guess.
So, there is my first crazy day. Day two has been a lot of just getting to know people and our rules/guidlines. Oh and skating with an awesome girl from Australia!
I'm very excited for my quarter here at YWAM Denver. I already miss some faces back home (and Utah and Minnesota ;)).
THIS IS AWESOME!
